GLOW Symposium Goals

This first symposium is for students to get to know women who have achieved high positions in our society. If they can do it, so can you. Come meet them and hear their stories. Admission is first come first serve.

Our symposium on May 21st, is focused on letting young women hear from successful women in various fields and learn from their experiences. Our sessions are divided into :

• Health and Wellness (Medicine)

  Mental Health and Well being on of women is important. The breakout session would entail, health professionals talking about tricks to keep women healthy. E.g. Mental Health, Women Hygiene and more.

• Business and Careers

  Speakers talk about their experience on choosing that profession. Why did they choose it? How difficult was it to get to that position? How did they manage to break the barriers?

• Education and Advancement

  The speaker would be asked to share their journey to where they are. How can young women benefit from various options and avenues to help them make the right decision. Did they originally plan to be in that position? What are the most desirable fields of the future for women. How is STEM or Business education is going to help women’s careers. What should the women do to advance their careers in a certain field? How can the panelist or educators help in this field?

• Government and Politics

  What the possible avenues to serve in the government for students? How do they start this process.
